I attended a fabulous free printmaking workshop at Pyramid Atlantic Art Center in Silver Spring, MD on Multi-pass Monoprinting. Instructor Gretchen demonstrated the basics of the additive and subtractive mark-making technique using stencils and templates. We worked with brushes and other drawing instruments and printed on the large intaglio press. It felt good being back in the studio.

A/Way Home
I'm currently working on some new collages for an upcoming show at DCAC in the Adams Morgan neighborhood in the District. The exhibit A/Way Home produced by Black Artists of DC (BADC) examines the ideas and realities of “Home” including and beyond the concept of the dwelling itself. I'm excited about the concept and have been exploring different metaphors for home as a starter. The exhibition will be on display from November 30, 2012 - January 6, 2013.

Make - Remake
Can't wait to start taking old paintings and cutting them up to make new work. These papers were painted using pigment and paste while I was a Keyholder Resident artist at Pyramid Atlantic Art Center in Silver Spring. That's what I like about collage, taking something old and making it new again.

In Streets of Paris
I had the fabulous opportunity to travel to Paris in November of 2011 with a fabulous friend of mine. We walked the streets of the city non-stop - sketchbook/journal in hand.

The Promise of Collaboration
I was thrilled to meet cartoonist and animator Leila Kabib at a Back to School Nite in Montgomery County in Maryland. We talked about the possibility of teaching a collage and animation class together. Leila said my cut paper collages lend themselves well to animation.
