The Black Exhibition

The group show organized by BADC (Black Artists of DC) will open with a reception Thursday, February 10 at the Charles Sumner School, Museum and Archive in Washington DC. from 6:30 - 8:30 pm. My art and the artwork of 18 other artists will be on display. The exhibition runs through March 31

BADC In The House

I went to a Black Artist of D.C. (BADC) meeting at Howard University. Several artists brought art to be critiqued including painter and collage artist Jamea Richmond-Edwards. BADC is a very dynamic and vibrant group that consist of  artists working in a diverse range of media including painting, printaking, textiles and sculpure.

connecting with lifelong friend

Gail Shaw and I were in a art collective back in the day when I was at Howard University as an art student. We called the group Saba and we exhibited all over the D.C. metro area. There were 7 of us, all printmakers. Kabuya Pam Bowens, Gail Shaw, Mark Montgomery, Calvin Reid, Kamala Subramanian and the late Aden Hachman. This summer I ran into Gail who I hadn't seen in decades. She's still active making art in New York City.
